Planning for Cultural Diversity

Author: Lidia Varbanova - Date: 10 aug 2009, 13:28

This booklet is about how countries can manage education in an increasingly diverse cultural environment and yet foster nation-building and integration.

A major challenge for education policy-makers is how to ensure educational equality, access to culture and full social participation of minority groups while ensuring social harmony and national development. Different policies and strategies implemented in different countries are reviewed in terms of curriculum and the teaching of languages, as well as in terms of school organisation and forms of education delivery.
