The BAM Flemish Institute for Plastic, Audiovisual and Media Art has selected a range of artists from the emerging generation of plastic artists in Flanders. The resulting publication includes a lot of surprising work by artists with great potential.
Since the mid 1990s, contemporary visual arts have flourished in Flanders. Many Flemish artists - including Luc Tuymans, Wim Delvoye, Jan Fabre, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven - have achieved international acclaim. This growth can mainly be attributed to the passion and entrepreneurial spirit of both artists and organisations and museums in the Flemish-speaking community.
