The international conference Exit Europe - New Geographies of Culture will take place from 12 to 15 November 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Exit Europe will look at EU and local cultural polices, new cultural practices in the former Yugoslav countries and critical reappraisals of the EU enlargement process from the perspective of emerging political and social geographies.

This conference, part of the Trans Balkan Europe project initiated by Clubture and Culture Action Europe, will lead to political recommendations addressed to policymakers within and outside the EU.

Four days of intensive discussions, info and work sessions will bring together a variety of prominent actors from across the region and Europe: Dubravka Ugrešić, Mark Terkessidis, Želimir Žilnik, Xavier Troussard, Pascal Brunet, Chris Torch, Boyan Manchev, Ugo Vlaisavljević, and many others.

Here you can register for participation at the conference. The deadline for the submission is November 4, 2009. For independent organisations from former Yugoslav countries a mobility fund is available.

Special emphasis during these events will be put on matters of regional cooperation and international issues, such are the processes in cultural policy making that have been occurring within the EU.
