The foundation was established at the end of 2004 by two main Polish artists for the contemporary art in Poland: Bozenna Biskupska- sculptor, painter, performer (www.biskupska.pl) and Zygmunt Rytka photographer and video artist. The location of the Foundation is a garden city Podkowa Lesna, 30 km from Warsaw , in old villa from the end of XIXth century. Among the main activities of the Foundation there are promotion of contemporary art in Poland and abroad, forming and developing cultural awareness in the society, disseminating innovative artistic attitudes and supporting different forms of creative activity, popularization and developing new methods for cultural education with special consideration to young people, promotion of particularly talented individuals in different fields of art, and activities with special attention to art and culture properties preservation and taking care of national heritage, gathering around the Foundation idea authors, critics, devotees of art, representatives of science, entrepreneurs and culture activists at home and abroad. In Situ accomplishes its purposes working with Polish and foreign NGO’s and public institutions, organizing and financing: domestic and international artistic events, especially exhibitions, concerts, artistic workshops, lectures and educational projects in various fields of art, conferences and seminars, archiving the artistic oeuvre of domestic and foreign authors, innovative undertakings in the area of artistic work using multimedia techniques and new mass media, organizing local communities cultural life.other disciplines of creativity fading away artificial borders between them. In our conviction art and its diversity are means of bringing people together and a ground for intellectual dispute. We belive that confrontation of initiatives and inspirations can be truly profitable.
