Georgia Impressions

Call for writers, poets, storytellers, video artists. (Sep 2012 - Oct 2012)

Author: Maia Simonia - Date: 15 may 2012, 22:03

The ‘Georgia Impressions’ project will be a multidimensional, cross-cultural collaboration based on artistic production (individual and collective), and learning activities.

The bodywork of the project will develop around the artistic activities carried out by seven European artists in three different places in Georgia, and will be realized in the wider presence of Georgian artists.

- The group of European artists will travel through Georgia and throughout the trip will record their impressions. They will make reflective works, based on their most essential impressions.

At the end of the project, the artists will merge their separate artworks to form a joint artistic portrayal of Georgia. The works can vary in form, from sound to visual art, photography, written, new media, video art and poetry.

- For the learning perspective, the European artists will lead three interactive thematic workshops, and informal round-table discussions. The workshops will be conducted in three different art centers and will be attended by Georgian artists and cultural workers.

The final results of the project and the artistic works will be presented at the contemporary art centre in Tbilisi.

The joint artwork will be displayed later, at Fest I Nova summary exposition at Europe House in Tbilisi.
