This company was born from the meeting of two dancers from the French companies Traction Avant (Vénissieux) and Culture Street (Valence), Karim Amghar and Olé Khamchanla. Together they create their first dance play “Rencontre” (encounter, meeting) which is the beginging of their artistic collusionand of their recognition amongst the dance professionals (Rencontres des Cultures Urbaines, Montpellier danse…)
The art works of the company are meant to be rich from mixing cultures, dances and people. A wide open state of mind that gives way to an identity forged in hip hop culture, enriched with a poetic-writing that merges contemporary dance with afro, capoeïra and butô.
Since it was created in 1998, the company A’Corps has made of handing down this culture one of the key elements of its actions. It regularly manages training classes of hip hop dance. It also creates shows for various groups.
After they individually choreographied the pieces « Symbiose » (Karim Amghar) and «Nous sommes tous…» (Olé Khamchanla), both choreography together "Deuxième temps, mémoire", a trio created in October 2005 within the dance meeting “Rencontres de la Villette”. Since then, the two dancers alternate common and individualy choreographied projects.
In 2007/2008, they answer to the inviation of the Comédie de Valence and create “Comme un reflet” in January 2008.
