I am an informationspecialist on Culture and Development at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As an informationspecialist, part of the Information and Librarydepartment (with a collection of moren then 300.000 titles on international development) I will be responsible for the launch and maintenance of a new portal on "culture, heritage and international development". (october 2006).

We would very much like to join forces with other organisations, databases, portals to share information and make it accessible for a wider public.

KIT houses a very good and interesting ethnographic museum called Tropenmuseum (staff ca. 90 fte). Besides short- and longterm exhibition, collection management and conservation, the staff of Tropenmuseum is involved with international consultancies and capacity development in developing countries.

KIT also houses an international World Theatre, which stages different productions (theatre, dance, music, films).
