annet dekker

Annet Dekker (NL, 1970) is head of exhibitions and the artist in residence program at the Netherlands Media Art Institute, Montevideo in Amsterdam. She works in the area of new media: researched, published and curated (inter)national media art exhibitions and debates. Subjects of interest are the influence of new media, science and popular culture on art and vice versa. She presented at (inter)national symposia, a.o. Siggraph2004, Cosign2003, ISEA2002 and 2004, NGE2001 and was part of the jury for CYNETArt Festival04 in Dresden, Cosign2004 and ACM Multi Media 2004–2007. She is also co-curator for Impakt Online and boardmember of the Netherlands Film Festival, Re:Vision. In her current research she focuses on the use and impact of ‘emotional’ interfaces in art and technology projects
