"Dialogue is dialectic"

I had a nice short conversation with prof. Robert Hewison. I asked him about his yesterday's welcome speech, the "anti-bureaucratic" one. And I was right, he confirmed my thought that he wanted to express some critic concerning the bureaucracy behind culture. Prof. Hewison also resembled the confronation of discourses that is running in Europe; the professional "Westerns" against (but obviously it doesn't mean "in a fierce conflict") the "Easterns" or "the New Ones". He believes in dialogue conducted through coherent actions. He doesn't support the tendency to talk about particular levels of what we call "culture", focusing on "heritage", "dialogue", "communication" etc. Culture is one (?)

He also said that: "Dialogue is dialectic".

I will come back to this phrase later...

Thank you so much Iwona and Jacek for your reports!

I am very much interested in this need for liberalisation of law concerning the sphere of arts, that Prof. Robert Hewison talked about, his "anti-bureaucratic" perspective. If you happen to catch up with him again, it would be great to hear more about it!
