The European Forum on Cultural Industries will be a meeting place at which to discuss cultural industries within the framework of the Spanish presidency of the European Union.
It will take place at Casa Llotja de Mar, Barcelona, 29-30 March. Participation is free. Deadline for registration is 8 March! Register here.
This Forum is organised by the Ministry of Culture of Spain and the European Commission, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona. It is considered the foremost meeting foreseen by the Spanish presidency of the European Union in the field of culture. The Forum precedes the informal meeting of ministers of Culture of the European Union which will take place the following day, 31 March, in Barcelona.
The European Commission will use this moment to present the general lines of the expected Green Paper on Cultural and Creative Industries and professionals and companies from the sector will discuss future challenges that the sector envisages.
The Forum programme is structured around five key lines of discussion:
• The financing of the cultural industries (financial intervention mechanisms, sustainability of SMEs).
• The professionals of the cultural industries (new skills derived from the digital mutation, training challenges, mobility of talent).
• Internationalisation (local production in global markets, internationalisation and cooperation strategies).
• Intellectual property and the management of rights.
• Territorial development (culture and territorial development, European local and regional development programmes).
Check the preliminary programme and stay tuned to the Forum´s website for updates and reports!
