The next Keðja encounter will take place in Umeå, Sweden in 3-6 May and will focus on the creation process.
Participation is free. Deadline for registration is 7 February.
Keðja is a platform for artists, educators, producers, scholars and dancing youth to address issues in the contemporary dance field in the Nordic and Baltic region.
The Umeå encounter consists of several labs and lectures conducted by some of the most interesting artists and scholars working in the international dance field right now.
People from the contemporary dance community and related areas are welcome to participate. The idea is to examine jointly the working methods among dancers, choreographers, producers and managers, deepen the artistic discourse among artists and highlight artistic research in the field. Special attention will be given to the creative process and the dancer’s point of view.
keðja Umeå is a great opportunity to dig deep into the subjects at hand, meet colleagues from the Nordic-Baltic countries and elsewhere and celebrate dance as an art form in constant development.
Umeå is a vital town in the north of Sweden, recently chosen to be the European Capital of Culture in 2014.
The encounter is organised by Moderna Dansteatern in co-operation with the Swedish Dance Committee and several Swedish partners.
