Seminar 1: `STRATEGIES OF NON-KNOWLEDGE – the myth of the return journey
Target groups are people who would like to understand her creative potential as a knowledge. The main objective of the course is the intercultural exchange on an european problem, Migration, and the attempt to approach solutions with a practical, creative work. The experience of non-knowledge is an essential tool for any
creative work. Only by taking risks, we allow for blanks and gaps that contain all kinds of possibilities. 'Success' and 'failure' are just polarities. Crucial on the focus is the process of finding itself in the face of an infinite number of solutions. While participants mapping their own landscape of non-knowledge they learn to navigate it. A ceative strategy is a method of questioning to open spaces.
A creative process means to sample different attitudes within non-knowledge: being on a quest, sensing, imagining, and acting. The use of patterns and strategies of perception access the creating process. The workshop will study ways of facing the world and confronting it with an artist’s questions on gaps and blank spots.
Session 1: 17.05. - 22.05.2010 Session 2: 24.05. - 29.05.2010
Seminar 2: `THE FOREIGN AND ME – an intercultural dialog
For hundreds of years artists have searched for new inspirations for their artistic work. The travelling, being on the move and the foreign look at close things opens the perception for the everyday surroundings and releases creative potential. Besides, reflecting processes are got going. In class we'll concentrate on possibilities to
approach `the foreign`: socially, artistically, didactically, educationally and culturally. It is our goal to face up with the subject of the "foreign" and to enter a productive dialogue about it. We differentiate and reflect. How does the foreign affect me? Does it make me curious? Do I fear it? Do I restrain myself? Or do I open myself? Our
goal is to deal with the theme “the Foreign” in a way, that enables you to have a productive dialog about it, as you can encounter it anywhere. To confront yourself with it, reflect yourself, to set boundaries, to open yourself. The class will be accpmpanied with the question: are there places, places with high problem intensity, that can
be used as a source of inspiration. Are we able to transfer the solution attempts creatively of artistic work in the work as artists, teachers and adult educators at home.
