tereza stehlikova | 03 Jun 2008, 11:26

Place: Kamenice nad Lipou, Southern Bohemia, Czech Republic
Time: 20th – 25tg August 2008

Our special guests attending: John Berger, Don DeLillo, Eugène Green, Anne Michaels, Martinu Quartet, Mehelli Modi, Sally Potter, Sukhdev Sandhu, Jirí Wehle

Meeting in a small Czech town, and inspired by the remarkable artistic and intellectual heritage of the Czech Republic, Under the Linden is a unique summer event. It seeks to celebrate both a stream of cultural expression and a location founded on a strong sense of enduring priorities in both life and art.

As the setting, purpose and attendance of the gathering will play as important a role in the success as what is shown, so Under the Linden will provide for a unique meeting of minds and works, where the discreet size of the gathering increases the chance of focus and attention, a place where international artists, writers, film-makers, musicians and thinkers can be in dialogue with informed audiences around shared and ongoing concerns.

Mixing screenings, readings, concerts, performances and exhibitions, the intimate nature of this event forms an essential part of its vision. Under the Linden is about building an international community of mutual intent, about defending and promoting what matters.

Book Now as tickets for this very special gathering are extremely limited.
