I am a hybrid media writer interested in collaborating with video filmmakers and photographers for a free online novel. Exploring themes of identity, faith, love, and suffering, the novel recounts the life of a gay man, a doctor who dies of AIDS at the beginning of the epidemic. It will be presented as a series of fragments (like memory) that will include text, narration, video and still image.
I will post weekly text and narrations on the blog Queer Skins www.queerskins.blogspot.com. You read the text and respond with video or photographs. This presentation is nonlinear, so submissions need not be illustrative.
For a plot synopsis or to submit images, please go to flickr at http://www.flickr.com/groups/1032447@N20/.
I will have final say over which submissions are chosen for presentation. You will be credited with your work and must agree to a creative commons attribution, non-commercial, non-derivative license.

The animation that was made for this novel in collaboration with the artist Pelin Kirca has been shown in film festivals around the world. It will be screened at the Melbourne International Festival of Animation in June 2009.
