International Summer Programmes in cultural economics: June-August 2011, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

The third edition of the International Summer Programmes in cultural economics organized by Centre for Research in Arts and Economics (CREARE) will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 30 June–3 July 2011 and 17 -24 August 2011. In accordance with their interests and needs, participants will be able to attend courses on:

  • The Value of Culture: On the Relationship Between Economics, Culture and the Art (Amsterdam, 17 - 24 August 2011), and
  • The Economics of Museums and Cultural Heritage (Amsterdam, 30 June – 3 July 2011).

The courses are to explore the tension between the world of economics and the world of the arts. The first one will provide a wider perspective, whereas the second one will specialize in museums and cultural heritage. They are open to students, city planners, politicians, teachers, business leaders, cultural managers and other workers in the cultural field. Participants will take part in debates on recent insights on the topics and will learn from actual cases.
