A network of foundations operating in over 50 countries around the world to build and maintain the infrastructure of an open society.

These autonomous institutions initiate and support activities to advance democracy, human rights and economic, legal and social reform.

OSI and Soros foundations award grants, scholarships and fellowships, promoting alliances across borders and cultural programmes to achieve these aims more effectively.
