An intergovernmental organisation that is funded by the various governments of Commonwealth countries, to which it reports. The foundation seeks to strengthen civil society and promotes arts and culture. It operates in the following issues : culture and diversity, sustainable development, governance and democracy. Grants are given for participation in activities such as training courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, cultural festivals, exchanges and study visits.
