ALF was established in 1995 in the follow up of the Barcelona Process and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Located in Alexandria, Egypt, it is an international civil society organisation with an intergovernmental board of governors. The grants programme supports concrete and sustainable projects for the promotion of inter-cultural relationships.
