An autonomous body under the auspices of the Icelandic Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Provides financial support for the production and co-production of Icelandic feature films, documentaries, short films and TV fiction. Promotes Icelandic films at international film festivals and acts as an information centre for Icelandic films and filmmakers, disseminates information internationally and gathers documentation, literature and research about Icelandic films.
