A foundation which tries to safeguard the historic links between those territories that belonged to the Spanish Crown in the 16th and 17th Centuries - Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and northern France. It does so by cooperating in cultural projects. Established in Madrid in 1594 as a hospital for pilgrims, four centuries later the foundation remains fully active.
