A training centre in the art of puppetry, the institute delivers a three-year course resulting in a degree in puppetry (Diplôme des Métiers des Arts de la Marionnette). It also organises multidisciplinary summer courses for young French and foreign professionals, as well as offering its own resource centre, library, video library and theatre. The presence of researchers in residence and the organisation of regular debates encourage an on-going exchange of ideas and discussion.
