A national association of non-commercial filmmakers whose members include film clubs and organisers of film festivals and workshops. Among other activities, the Federation supports and promotes independent film productions and organises cultural exchanges involving filmmakers worldwide, provides skills training for those organising film workshops, and enables filmmakers to take part in national and international competitions and festivals. The Federation belongs to the International Independent Film Union, UNICA, which is itself a member of UNESCO.
