An institute that serves artists, artistic organisations, art historians, curators, scientists, students, art critics, journalists and the wider public. It promotes conditions for the freedom of creation, supports the development of art, enables easier access to art and promotes better understanding of art in the wider sense.
Since 1998, it has been active as the Soros Centre for Contemporary Art (SCCA - Zagreb), a programme of contemporary Art of The Open Society Institute Croatia and part of the SCCA network (today I_CAN - International Art Network, Amsterdam).
