A network of organisations dedicated to the preservation and promotion of linguistic diversity worldwide.
Following a UNESCO meeting of experts on the promotion of plurilingual education, the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia created Linguapax. The network develops activities along three major lines: consultations to language policy makers; collaboration in language revitalisation projects on behalf of minority language communities; and creation of teaching materials.
The Linguapax Prize is awarded every year to linguists, researchers, professors or members of civil society as a tribute to their outstanding work in the field of linguistic diversity and multilingual education.
