A worldwide network of people interested in playback theatre, which is a form of personal improvisational theatre that values story, ritual and community. It is created through a unique collaboration between performers and audience. Someone tells a story or moment from their life, chooses actors to play the different roles, then watches as their story is immediately recreated.
Formed in 1990, the IPTN is an association of playback theatre groups, practitioners, and supporters. It allows members to connect as a global community, foster networking, as well as deepening collective learning and wisdom. The website includes news and resources, as well as information about relevant training.
