A network for enhancing intercultural dialogue and information flow about socio-cultural activities, particularly between member organisations across Europe.
Amateo encourages political support for active participation in cultural activities. It also organises festivals, exhibitions, exchange programmes and research. The 2010 annual meeting focused on the economic survival of amateur cultural organisations in Europe in the light of the financial crisis.
