The first point of contact for organisations wishing to apply for funding under the EU framework programme for culture, CCPs are responsible for its promotion and for making sure that information flows smoothly between national cultural institutions in EU member states. Italy's CCP runs under the auspices of the Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities and was initially creatd by the Istituto Universitario di Studi Europei (Universitary Institute of European Studies) in Turin.
