An institute responsible for ensuring the development of the cultural routes programme of the Council of Europe.
The institute follows up the cultural routes that have already been chosen. It also coordinates and provides technical support to networks, in particular in their development in Central and Eastern Europe. It initiates new proposals, reflects on the issue of memory and re-interpretation of European history and is also setting up a research tool, the European atlas of cultural routes.
