An intergovernmental organisation that brings together Portuguese speaking countries to promote their common language and heritage.
It develops cooperation in several political fields, including economic, social, education and cultural. It currently includes: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.
