A political and non-denominational international relief agency created in 1993 in Afghanistan and active worldwide.
ACTED’s integrated approach to development concerns activities such as: emergency relief/development aid; microfinance, and culture (through the BACTRIA Foundation in Tadjikistan). Cultural activities include heritage protection; support to local cultural life; and socio-economic initiatives such as handicrafts and ecotourism.
ARCADE is the first project implemented by ACTED in Europe that aims to raise awareness about culture and development.
