
The aim of the offered fellowships is to increase international and interdisciplinary exchange. Working together on new findings will contribute to achieving innovative results. We therefore welcome applications from every country and scientific discipline – as long as the research is closely tied to our project‟s theme. Therefore, it may cover any of the following areas: circulation/international transfer of social scientific knowledge (historically and/or current); South-North as well as South-South relations in international social sciences; reception, acceptance or rejection of social scientific concepts/theories/methodology developed elsewhere; counter-hegemony in international social science; critiques of eurocentrism; (critiques of) Europe as a model or standard in social science research and/or in social or political practice; issues related to the translation of social scientific texts and working in different languages; emergence of autonomous traditions and original contributions to the various disciplines from the global South; circulation and transfer of theories and concepts between academia and fields of social, cultural, political practice/popularization of social scientific knowledge; alternative/multiple modernities, critiques of the modernity/tradition divide; epistemological issues in the social sciences related to relativism-rationalism-pluralism, universalism-particularism, indigenization, locality.
