Open to artists from around the world, the Biennale offers studios, art galleries and opportunities for artists to carry out research in literature, theatre, dance and graphic arts. Created by a group of artists in 1978, the Cerveira Art Biennale is an example of how one event has matured into a stable organisation. The Biennale extends its activities from Portugal to other European countries (particularly the Galicia region of Spain) and works with international partner UNESCO. It is also a member of Resartis.
