The European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (EYID) 2008 recognises that Europe’s great cultural diversity represents a unique advantage.
EYID was established by Decision N° 1983/2006/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. (18 December 2006). It encourages all those living in Europe to explore the benefits of our rich cultural heritage and opportunities to learn from different cultural traditions. The Resources section of the website presents key official documents and publications on the theme of intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity. It also contains a rich Projects section - following an open call for proposals, the Commission is co-financing a small number of emblematic actions on a European scale in order to raise awareness of the objectives of the EYID.
