Thinking Forward. Cultural Programmes as Part of the Dutch Presidency of the European Union, 1 July - 31 December 2004

This publication records a series of culture activities organised during the 2004 Dutch EU Presidency carried out by the Fund for Amateur Art and Performing Arts and the Mondriaan Foundation. "Thinking Forward", the title of the series, included activities from almost every artistic discipline that took place in the Netherlands as well as in one of the ten new member states. Many of them were developed in partnership. Some examples include: "Art for Social Change" programme; exchange programmes between Dutch cultural institutions and those located in Estonia, Poland and Slovakia; a location based performance between theatres in Eindhoven and Ljubljana; a large-scale presentation of Dutch contemporary theatre, dance and music in Budapest.
