This report describes the landscape for cultural research and networking in Europe and Canada. Cultural cooperation is discussed from two points of view: the transnational activities of national research and information bodies and the activities of transnational networks and institutions whose raison d'ĂȘtre is to faciliate cooperation among individual researchers and national bodies. Examples of regional observatories are included alongside those established by inter-governmental organisations.
