Dynamics of Communication and Cultural Change: The Role of Networks

The Conference proceedings display a wealth of ideas and approaches to problems of cultural development, cultural change and communication. One of the chapters concentrates on the topic of cultural policies and international/European cultural cooperation and reports on the dramatic increase of cultural exchanges and transfers. It makes observations on the changing role of governments in international cultural relations which is influenced more and more by economic factors. To this end, international cultural relations are examined in the context of international and national organisations involved in both culture and economics.
