Launched by the German Federal Culture Foundation [Kulturstiftung des Bundes] in 2002, the Migration Project was designed to depict the societal changes that waves of migration have brought about in Europe. More than 120 events took place within the context of the project including: in-house and public workshops, lecture series, theatre performances and media programmes, scholarly research, film and art projects, and an international symposium for scholars. The results of the project were brought together in a major transdisciplinary exhibition held in Cologne, Germany at the end of 2005.
