Cultural Statistics 2007

This pocket book brings together the current main cultural statistics from EU member states, as well as from EU candidate countries and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.

Selected tables and graphs describe different areas of the cultural field including: heritage, employment, enterprises in certain cultural sectors, external trade in cultural goods, household cultural expenditure, cultural participation and time spent on cultural activities. It reveals how culture plays an increasingly significant role in the daily life of European citizens. For example, cultural employment accounted for almost five million people (2.4% of total employment in the 27 EU member states) in 2005.
