A society that furthers research and teaching of the cognitive sciences of music, which are defined as those that study the perceptual and mental processes underlying musical experience and activity. For this purpose, ESCOM fosters European and international cooperation in the field. Its activities include the promotion of publications, educational programmes and the support of young researchers.
