Inspiring & informative stories of cross-border cooperation in Europe.

We are collecting inspiring and informative stories of cross-border cooperation projects that suggest possible routes, themes and models of partnership. In this section, we present artists' own voices and the challenges they face in their varied experiences on the ground.

We use online searches, expert suggestions & interviews with cultural operators to help us identify which projects to include. All projects are accessible here via the database. A small sample of cases is also selected for a more in-depth analytical presentation.

All projects are also accessible via a metaphorical case studies map designed by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo. This special interface links projects together through carefully chosen itineraries, highlighting the relationships between recurrent features and focusing on the unique and driving forces behind cross-cultural collaborations. Through interviews, slide shows, images and multimedia downloads, the projects are presented and recomposed in a multilayered perspective and are organised in the form of a ‘map’, where specific features are highlighted. The map gives an opportunity to search by themes in unique combinations.

For further information, please read our project criteria and detailed methodology.

Tell us your stories of cultural cooperation in Europe! We invite you to submit your project via the Add new content feature of LabforCulture.org.

These case studies have been collected and analysed by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, in cooperation with the Gateway to Cultural Cooperation (G2CC) consortium partners.
