An agency from the Government of Catalonia's (Generalitat de Catalunya), Department of Culture and Media. The ICEC was set up in 2000 (under the name of Institut Català de les Indústries Culturals, ICIC) to enhance the development of businesses devoted to the production and distribution of the whole spectrum of cultural goods in diverse formats.
It is responsible for the Filmoteca de Catalunya, whose objective is to preserve and spread the Catalonian film heritage.
It has a network of offices in Berlin, Brussels, London, Milan and Paris, and also provides international promoters with information about Catalonia's arts sector. It grants Catalan companies to participate in international fairs, festivals or markets.
