A public foundation devoted to the dissemination of Hispanic-Muslim civilisation - its artistic expressions and monuments - and preserving the strong social and historic links between Andalusia and the Arab world, especially with the Maghrebian area. The Al-Andalus Legacy also stresses the important role played by Spain as a bridge between Oriental and Occidental civilisations. It was created by the administration (junta) of Andalusia, with the participation of the Spanish government.
