A foundation which contributes to the Portuguese arts and culture scene in the areas of charity work, education, science and art. Its facilities include a museum, a modern art centre, an art library, a science institute, conference rooms and an auditorium. It also has its own choir and orchestra, as well as a music department and an education programme. Providing scholarships and financial support to artists, scientists and events abroad, the foundation has a history of cooperation with institutions worldwide. It also has two branches in Paris and London.
