I am an independent researcher, writer, and curator, living and working between Berlin and Damascus.

With a background in Near Eastern archaeology and art history, my main focus now is contemporary artistic and cultural practice in the Arab world, the reception of Islamic and Arab art and culture in Western high and popular culture, transculturality and centemporary nomadic experiences.

My international and multi-lingual background exposed me at a very early stage in my life to the need of adapting and coming to terms with new environments, a basis I regard as highly valuable in my daily work as a cultural worker who moves between countries and cultures.

I organize exhibitions, exchange programs, film and video events, seminars and talks and publish regularly.
