Here I will be dragging your attention to some interesting ideas and concepts among European cultural cooperation projects which are already selected or will be collected in the Case Study section on LabforCulture.org. I think that this blog can be a place where I will have the opportunity to share with you some of vital dilemmas and questions which occurred to my mind while exploring and collecting information on various cultural cooperation and projects.

From my experience in the cultural field (management, editorial and journalism) accomplished projects often remain without any kind of documentation or structuralised presentation for public which would be easy to reach. Projects remain only in organiser's memory and thus so we usually can’t talk about, positive nor negative, transfer of knowledge and experiences. This kind of ignorant and careless attitude towards our past and present work makes relationship and vision of new, future projects and actions more complicated.

Case Study section tends to map European cultural cooperation praxis which can be poetic, romantic, realistic, atavistic or witty in exploring global and local social, political and cultural standards and values. These projects open dialogue on problems of contemporary neoliberal society and give us various possibility of interpretation of our everyday. The projects to which we give special attention are focused on local level, public domain and sphere, transformation of social, political and cultural issues, new technologies, interdisciplinary projects tending to create new and open view to our past, present or future world.

If we are talking in long-term framework, it is possible to imagine that this section will show us what kind of culture and art are being accomplished today in Europe. Is the culture instrumentalised? Or it represents the place of critical thinking and function? Is it an autonomous zone or something else? It is difficult to claim that detection of the reality in which cultural project lives can help, but I am sure that it could be a great starting point to inquire positions and role of art and cultural institutions, their programs and manifestation, role of artists and those who participate in cultural field. In which measure productions between different countries differ? Can we talk only about global trend or can we also see unique local tendencies? At the end, maybe it can help us to find a way how to empower artistic praxis as a relevant social activity, where artists express themselves and act.

For all of these reasons I invite you to share your experiences with other colleagues. Inspire and become an example, direction and impulse to all of us. Let the projects continue their lives.
