Bronisław Geremek Fellowships 2011 - 2012

The Bronisław Geremek Fellowship program is to foster study and reflection of Polish national heritage in the context of European tradition. The fellowship enables young Polish doctoral or post-doctoral researchers to become members of the international, multidisciplinary scholarly community of the IWM to work on a research project of their choice.

The fellowship is open to all academic disciplines in the humanities and social sciences; research proposals related to one of the IWM’s main fields are strongly encouraged. The Bronisław Geremek Fellows will be invited to spend the academic year 2011/12 at the IWM to pursue their research projects while working in residence. The fellows will receive a stipend in the amount of € 2.000 per month to cover accommodation, living expenses, travel, health insurance and incidentals during the stay in Vienna. Furthermore, the IWM will provide a personal office, IT infrastructure, access to the internet, in-house research facilities and other relevant sources in Vienna. The fellows will participate in the scholarly community and activities of the Institute.

Eligibility: Candidates for the Bronisław Geremek Fellowship: must currently pursue a doctoral degree or have recently obtained a Ph.D. in any discipline in the humanities or social sciences; must be Polish citizens or permanently reside in Poland; must not be older than 35 years.
