An online collection of manuals about free and open source software, maintained by a community of authors, editors, artists, software developers, activists and many others. It includes information about how to install and use open source software for a wide range of purposes: design, video editing and subtitling, blogging, micro-financing, open translation, content relations management (CRM), content management systems (CMS), etc.
The website offers various ways to use the manuals (online, download, PDF print or print-to-order) and allows you to re-mix or combine manuals and chapters into a tailor-made version for your specific needs. Anyone can also contribute to a manual, start new manuals or topics, or translate existing manuals into other languages.
FLOSS (which stands for Free Libre Open Source Software) is registered in the Netherlands as a non-profit foundation. The development of Floss Manuals started in 2006, initiated by digital artist Adam Hyde.
