A non-governmental, independent organisation of researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds concerned with promoting evidence-based, policy-relevant research in Portugal at both national and European levels.
The centre's main objectives include contributing to the understanding of social reality, particularly with regard to poverty and social exclusion, and stimulating citizen participation in the process of development and social promotion.
