The Creative Industries Mapping Document 2001

Verfasser: Lidia Varbanova - Datum: 23 mai 2006, 11:44

This UK Mapping Document 2001 defines creative industries as 'activities which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent
and which have the potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property.' It makes links between the creative industries sectors and traditional fields such as arts and crafts. The UK Creative Industries Task Force investigated generic issues which impact upon the creative industries and has made recommendations for change in areas such as skills and training, finance for creative ventures, intellectual property rights, and export promotion. These recommendations are directed towards better careers in the creative industries; improving regional efforts to finance creative businesses; providing information services on intellectual property for creators, users and the general public; and a more streamlined and focused range of support for creative exporters. The Task Force looked specifically at increasing the sales of television exports and the opportunities and threats to creative businesses from the Internet.
