A fund that aims to strengthen the position of Icelandic literature and publishing, it offers grants for translation to and from Icelandic, as well as travel grants to Icelandic authors, foreign publishers, theatres, literature festivals, etc. to support the promotion of their work abroad.
Founded in 2007, the fund has taken over the roles of the Fund for the Promotion of Icelandic Literature, the Icelandic Cultural Fund, and the Icelandic Translation Fund, all of which have been discontinued.
